The Rocket is open to returning to Boston next year to pitch.

Considering their struggles this season, they could use his arm.

    He could whiff Jeter.

"Roger Clemens is in John Henry's box, and Roger Clemens is coming back. Oh, my good goodness gracious! Of all the dramatic things I've ever seen. Roger Clemens standing right in John Henry's box announcing he is back. Roger Clemens is a Boston Red Sox."

Jetes only hit .188 in his career against the Rocket. But he did take him deep 5 times in 33 at bats.

    Let me modify.

    He could still whiff Jeter.

No more calls please ... WE HAVE A WINNER!

Seriously, though, why would the Red Sox even think of doing this, considering the last salary purge?

I don't think he's locking for a big payday, he just wants to pitch again.

That's nice for Roger ... but there's no reason for the Red Sox to do this. Trot him out there on Old Timer's Day. But not an official game.

And he did that -- twice -- this summer.

Time to go away for good.
