What a great song. Just put it on one of the compilations I made for my latest trip.

"I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)" - Genesis

"It's one o'clock and time for lunch, dum dee dummmm dee dum.
When the sun beats down and I lie on the bench
I can always hear them talk."

    And outro, also spoken ...

"When the sun beats down and I lie on the bench,
I can always hear them talk.
Me, I'm just a lawnmower - you can tell me by the way I walk."

What's the spoken-word element to this song? The only version I've ever heard has a ringing guitar riff, followed by "UHHHHH!" ... or is that what you meant?

I think the problem might have been ... that there was a Stonehenge monument ... that was in danger of being trampled ... by a dwarf!

And I would be remiss, if this is a thread about spoken word, to not have a post about Ken Nordine.

How could we forget the champion of all narrative songs in popular music: "Alice's Restaurant."
