A topic after my own heart. I have about 60 license plates from around 45 different states hanging on my living room wall. Kansas has always had some great ones. The old wheat one is a personal favorite, though the newer ones are cool too. The older neon yellow New Mexico ones are great too.

One of the best I can remember is Florida's Challenger plates from the late 80s. They had a picture of the shuttle blasting off, with all of the orange flame around the bottom, and a perfect blue sky on top. Absolutely gorgeous. Wish I could track one of those puppies down, but it'd probably cost a mint.

  2. I like the Quebec ones. Je me souviens. Pretty cool.

In the American division, the "Oklahoma is OK" is my fave. Not excellent. Not thriving. Just ... OK.

I flipped through the "Slipped by the DMV" category on that coolpl8z site ... sure seems like a lot of those plates come from Virginia. Particularly liked the AGINA on the UVA plate.

From my 1980s teenage days, I know at least three Texas residents who were denied 3MTA3.

Why are so many from Virginia?
