I've seen some good movies of 24 year old librarians role playing

    IANAL, but ...

Florida Involuntary Manslaughter Laws - FindLaw

Now do I expect charges here? Nope.

Of course not. FLFOP will release a carefully worded statement about how, "this could happen to any officer," and we'll all shuffle along to the next scare.

We had a semi driver recently who was sentenced to 10 years in jail for plowing into the back end of a stopped car and killing two people. He wasn't speeding, drunk, high or playing Pokemon, but he did admit he was looking at his phone.

If he hadn't admitted that, not sure he would have faced any jail time.

Maybe they should make it illegal to have live people or live ammunition in role-playing events.

    Allowed to resign. Key point.

Fire him. Document it. Put it in his record, so he never gets hired again.

This is no better than the Church shuffling off predatory priests to a new parish.

But, cops are civil service union employees, and so we don't just fire them.

Scott Walker won't even touch the police unions.

Look, part of gun safety is not just cleaning, maintaining, training, and being careful as to where you point your weapon. Another key is identifying your ammo and there has to be identifying markings between blanks and live ammo. This was a massive, preventable and sad fuck up.

    Wait, they practice doing this?
