I tried to make small talk about his love of wine (the man loved wine) and he told me he had no idea what I was talking about. In other words, sonny, let’s get to the questions; I’ve got a team to run. That’s the way Noll was: Anything that interfered with his team he didn’t like much.

 

Should have called him Sluggo. That would have gotten him to talk.
