Gregg Doyel takes Kluwe to task for his twitter rant:

Doyel harrumphing about internet hyperbole, excess and impropriety. Awesome.

The very end of that column is just...good Lord.

Chris Kluwe is a victim of the nasty system that doesn't expect athletes to have opinions or speak their mind. He has every reason to sue the Vikings. I hope he wins.

  6. Kluwe was sometimes called "Sluggo" by his teammates.
    Little-known fact.

Yeah, I'm a Doyel fan, but that column was brutal.

You better read the Doyel column first

Chris Kluwe is a victim of playing a position that doesn't value $1.4 million salaries.

Posited: Chris Kluwe is an asshole who is correct on the issue on which he chose to take a stand.

Except that, according to Sportrac.com, 12 punters are scheduled to make a base salary of $1.4 million or more and 15 of them have an average salary of that level or higher.

The position is valued if there is ability, and I'm assuming, a good attitude, behind it.

This is pretty much where I land on it, yeah.
