    Terrorists or the French?

    Really poindexter?

I never knew you were "one of those."

To folks who rip the French:
A.) Do you have any sense of history?
B.) Is it me, or were they right about WMD in Iraq?

And poindexter, just to close my case......

I believe she's French. I guess you'll be choosing the French.

I don't think Al-Qaeda is capable of tactical errors. They want to fuck people up. I don't see this as a tactical error to that end because, well, they're still going to fuck people up.

Luggy, the thread title is funny in a farcical kind of way, not because anyone would actually choose Al Queda over the French. I do have a sense of history. The French are rarely right about anything. During WWII, the British fought valiently, the French rolled over. Everyone talks about the "French Resistance," but really what was the resistance? Their factories were more efficient in churning out stuff for the Nazis than the German factories. We saved their ass, and they have been thumbing their noses at us since.

The French weren't right about WMDs, either. French companies were making so much money off kickbacks from the oil-for-food program that they didn't want the Saddam gravy train going away. It is how the French make every decision in the aggregate: Criteria 1, How deep is our hand in the cookie jar, and how much will the cashflow be affected? Criteria 2, All things being equal, how much can we tweak America with this? The thread title is funny because the French don't have a reputation for being a very principled people. There is a reason why they have that rep.

The English also had an ocean between them and Hitler. That helped a little.
