    Who says China is communist?

There is very little that their government has with communism.

China is nothing more than a garden-variety oligarchy these days.

Other than the fact that it's run by the Chinese Communist Party, the only legal party.

Once the government tasted the sweet nectar of productivity, it came on too much, too fast, had standards that were nonexistent to allow more to be built quickly and the consequences have been disastrous. So have been their attempts at cleaning up the mess -- the tree wall to break the Gobi Desert, for example, or this.

The Soviets' environmental record wasn't great, either.

Communists in name only. At the universities, their communist meetings consist of discussing DOW Jones and NASDAQ. This is going back 15-years.
