Hush, Zeke, Jesse will be here soon to shut this place down. Can you picket a message board?

Finally somebody has offered the one reason why I would move to Montana. I wouldn't mind sipping on a beer on the drive home from work. Never hurts to get a head start.

In Idaho it is still legal for the passenger to have an open container.

It's legal in Missouri if the passenger is in the back seat of the vehicle, I think. That may have changed in the last few years, but when we were in college, we used to drink on the way to parties with the DD.

Hell, we could have been doing it illegally, but who the fuck knows. There's actually a law still on the books that speeding isn't illegal in Missouri because there's no legal speed limit. I would LOVE to watch someone try to fight a ticket using that argument in court.

I thought some of the VWs were already doing this?
The practice of having a cooler built into the glove box or something like that. I just vaguely remember the commercials and it seems like Nick Drake was the music, so that means it had to be VWs.
And you've always been able to buy those portable coolers, that plugged into the cig lighter.

That'd be nice for the road trips. My wife has a Caliber that I love to drive, so when I can get rid of my truck in a year or two, I'm tempted to get a Dodge car. Can't afford a Charger, so the mini-Charger would do just fine.

If I were going to downsize from what I drive and get a smaller, more affordable car (given gas prices, a pretty good idea when my lease is up), I'd get that Caliber in a flash. It is adorable. Wish it was around when I was in my hatchback mode, driving Escorts and Tracers and Tercels.

fantastic. I also saw an article recently where they were considering installing computer monitors to allow for browsing the web, working email etc from the car. What's next--replace the glove compartment with a microwave oven? Add to the mix in car DVD's, cell phones, et al, and we're pretty much all the way there to where actually commandeering a multi-thousand pound hunk of metal at hurtling speeds is an afterthought.
