Charlotte's Vast White Void

    At my paper, if you open a story while a page is being filmed, a blank space will appear. We always print proofs and check PDFs, but there have been times (about three in the five years I've been employed) where the blank space gets through without us noticing as we're filming. Only once was it a disaster of epic proportions, and we had to rerun the story. I suspect Charlotte is on the same system because we're in the same chain.

    I get that but doesn't somebody check the first few copies of the paper when they're rolling off the press?
