I'm not heavy into Christmas like some of you, but this has been an annual must-see for me since I was in diapers. The music, the animation, the dialogue, the characters...it's perfect.

Best scene from any Christmas movie or special, all-time. And it's not even close.

  4. "To my big brother George -- the richest man in town" is close.
As is Alastair Sim's Christmas morning.

Have it on VCR and DVD. And like others, I could watch this show over and over, Charlie Brown.

To listen to John Gibson and Bill O'Reilly, that part gets edited out by the secularists

YTV in Canada this weekend is supposed to have Yogi's Christmas.

I think next weekend or the one after, they will have a day they show xmas programming and Charlie Brown's Christmas is on the list.

For anyone who missed it, I saw it scheduled for Monday night on my DVR.

I'm sorry I missed it, but I have the VCR tape of it. I went to see my college alma mater's music department put on their annual Christmas concert. Every year they do 4 performances (traditionally on the first weekend of December). They do a Thursday nighter on campus, then travel to my hometown to do one at the largest Lutheran church in town Friday night, travel here to Des Moines to do a Saturday night, and then return for the final perfomance on campus Sunday afternoon.

This was the 60th anniversary of the Christmas program. Charlie Brown may be on the top of my list, but going to see Christmas with Wartburg is #1b for me. It stays true to the story of Christmas, without the schtick, fluff, and commercialism. I love the traditional Christmas hymns sung by the choir and played by the band.

The concert was held last night, thanks to the fucking Rockettes coming to town this weekend and holding serve for two weeks.

    Sirs, Madames,

My favorite part: Pig Pen's dirty snowman ... I pulled the statuette of PP and the pathetic frozen dirtball out of storage and put it up on the mantle. (The missus, the Friend of the Friend of the Friendless, won't let me have it up there the rest of the year.) I also have a statuette of PP playing the bass. My boyhood hero.

Is it me or is he the one most likely to grow up to be a sportswriter? Other than Lucy.

    YHS, etc

Because he doesn't bathe? Yeah, probably.
