Pullman=Lubbock. Incredibly remote. The only difference is middle-of-nowhere West Texas has more good football players than middle-of-nowhere Eastern Washington.

I've also read on Teh Internets that Phil Fulmer is in the running for SMU.

Which would mean Shoney's will be opening a breakfast bar in Dallas.

I've thought Vanderbilt would be his best option for this off-season. A touch above academically (Mack did coach at Tulane way back when). Mack stabilizes Vandy over 3-4 years and then turns it over to a hand-picked successor.

I've heard the Fritz rumors, as well. Intriguing, given his local/regional ties. Could be wrong but I don't think he's ever coached at the FBS level.

I can't say I know much about him, but the Colorado School of Mines coach has a reputation as an offensive innovator. It seems like the type of candidate Kansas should at least kick the tires on.

He also coached at Chapel Hill back when they had academic standards.

No, but he's won a lot of games everywhere he's been and has a lot of ties to Texas and the Kansas JUCOs. I could see him being an Art Briles-type hire for Kansas.

I dealt with Stitt early in his career. His football knowledge is at a whole different level and having a competitive team at Colorado Mines is roughly the equivalent of an Ivy League school being competitive in the Big 12.

It's one thing to win at a school with really high academic standards. It's a little different when every student who goes to that school (basically) is a engineering or applied science major.

I don't know if he'd consider other jobs (maybe he like his life right now) but I'm rooting for someone to hire him. It'd be fun to watch and see how he does. I'm totally behind adopting any FBS team that hires him.

I wonder if he's actually interviewed for any major FBS jobs. I remember seeing his named attached to the Colorado opening a couple years ago.

You're going to need an AD who is all in on Stitt. I'm with you though, I'd love to see what he can do. He's been at Mines forever, but he's not an old guy. If I was at a lower level school in a major conference, I think you could do a lot worse than Stitt.

If Craig Bohl had said no to Wyoming, he would have been perfect there.
