  1. Anyone who knows me is well aware that I'm a huge James Bond fan. I was skeptical about the new one, but went and saw it today, and it's darn good.

However, it did take me a few moments for me to get over him driving a Ford in one scene. I know they wanted to humanize him, but that's a little too much for me.

Yeah, I'm sure him driving a Ford had nothing to do with sponsorship dollars. ::)

Chris - all these years and I never knew that you are such a bond fan. Knock me over with a feather

The shock of seeing Bond playing Texas hold'em instead of baccarat should be worse than seeing him drive a Ford.

If you hate Toby Keith, the terrorists have won.

Then I, for one, welcome our new terrorist overlords.

  9. Funny, I watched that version the other night. Still laughed when the toupee was called a family airlume. When Peter Fleming was writing the books, he had David Nevin in mind as James Bond.

FYI, in addition to changing the card game they do away with some other Bond staples as well. For example, no women in the opening credits, no Q and no Miss Moneypenny. There's also a good line regarding shaken not stirred, but I won't give it away.

I can't wait to see it. I might go on Saturday as I'll have time to kill on the road.

It's well worth seeing. Daniel Craig takes a little adjustment, but he could work well in the role. Eva Green is just stunning. I set up another thread for thoughts/questions with spoilers ...
