The real issue is a ringette team copping an attitude about media coverage.

Nah, they seem pretty good about it. My posting about it here vastly overstates how much of an issue it was.

You can tell there's some underlying animosity towards hockey though.

Big East, PGA Tour (the tour), Wam...

Any anality (is that a word?) is their problem.

If this is a dumb question, I apologize, but what is ringette?

It's like hockey, but played with straight sticks and a ring instead of a puck.

Well then is Mountain Dew supposed to be Mountain dew?

I'm looking at this from a branding standpoint and if I work hard to create a brand, I'm pissed when someone changes it on me in print.

Mountain Dew is a proper noun.

Your brand is not my problem.

If Mountain Dew is a proper noun, WAM is a proper noun. They are both names of products. One just happens to be strange because it isn't one that you buy in a grocery store.

You are correct, my brand isn't your problem, but how would you like if my company used your incorrect title, or called you the podunk press instead of the Podunk Press?

Please tell me you can see the difference between those two things and that you're just being obstinate.

In English, proper nouns (or each word that makes up a compound proper noun) begin with capital letters and have lowercase letters for all additional letters. All capital letters are reserved for initialisms.

If we decided to call ourselves pOdUnK%PreSS, reputable sources would still write it as Podunk-Press.

Proper style on the shortened version of doctor is Dr.

So do you call it Dr. Pepper in print? (God, it was hard even to type it.)

    DR PEPPER brand soft drink.

    Have to protect their trademark.
