Okay, to clarify, I know for a fact that this position will not be filled at this time. Due to the economy, the position will hopefully be filled at a later date, but for now, no one is getting hired to fill this position. Better?

Prediction: This position will be eliminated in the next round of cuts.

I'd hate to bug an SE whose management responsibilities might include hiring.

I remember being in high school and my parents insisting to me that I'd get any job I wanted as long as I went back to the place of business repeatedly and asked to be hired.

my grandfather: "and i showed up there every morning for two weeks ... he finally hired me because he got sick of seeing me."

me: "but if he hired you, wouldn't he see you more often? like all day every day?"

    my grandfather: "shut up, punk."

There's some crazy guy who wanders into the office about once every two months and wants to fill out a job application. We'd hire him, but he never brings his own pen. LOOSER.
