    The Washington Nationals, in their repetitive victories, are like the good, early Ramones, not like the sack-of-shit, C.J.-on-bass Ramones they were for most of the year.

    My only rule on stuff like that is, you have to know your audience. There might be an audience out there that would find that association really apt and charming. Wouldn't be my audience, however ...

    I don't know if this deals specifically with a lede, but I've always loved this story. Patrick Reusse wrote it 14 years ago on one of Sid Hartman's birthdays.

    Part of me wants to find Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor and listen to it to see if I can decipher what he's talking about. A very small part.
