Saw the release this morning on springsteen.net.

The rumor last week was the tour will start two weeks after the Super Bowl (probably in Barcelona!) and will end by July 1 becuase that's when Conan replaced Leno and Max can't be touring.

I think Tunnel of Love was his last great album. But I think Magic is very very good. And I agree with Fen that Girls is kinda his pirate-looks-at-50 moment. He is wistful about youth and what it brings but not unhappy and depressed. And that's a very good way to be about it. Live in the moment.

The Rising was a great album.
Magic was a very good one.

Last great album? Darkness On The Edge Of Town.

    Since then:

    Almost great: The River.

Very good: BITUSA and Tunnel Of Love.

Sweet. Ironically, I'm listening to Magic right now. Maybe it's not his greatest, but I still love listening to it.

I liked The Rising. Probably his best since Born in the USA.

Darkness on the Edge of Town is an amazing album.

Tunnel of Love was great. A classic.

Human Touch was OK. Not up to normal Bruce standards

Lucky Town was much better. Maybe not great, but at worst a half step off.

    GOTJ was just OK.

The next new release was The Rising. Very good, even excellent, in spots. But not great.

Devils and Dust is like Lucky Town -- almost great, but just short.

Magic was in the Hall of Good.

Tunnel of Love a classic? Are you out of your mind?

So, when someone is asked to name their 10 favorite Springsteen Songs, how many are from Tunnel of Love?

Mizzou, Brilliant Disguise is safely in my top 10 songs. Tougher that the Rest isn't too far outside the top 10.

Tunnel of Love is just a great album, both as a collection of individual songs and as the arc of a relationship.

    "the rising" was great, imo.

    "magic" was good.

can't wait for the new one. nbc totally ruined the new song last night. between editing and using the idiotic crowd noise with it.

what's the matter with these network a--holes?

I'd put "Tunnel Of Love" in my top 10 Bruce songs. "One Step Up" is another of my faves.

I really love Devils and Dust. The title song is amazing.
