California high school football playoffs on hold

One team in Northern California has a foster kid who filed some bad paperwork and is ruled ineligible. Team forfeits a few games and is knocked out of the playoffs, until some lawyer parents file an appeal.
Next thing you know, the CIF rule about foster kids and address changes is discriminatory and must be changed IMMEDIATELY. In the meantime, we'll just put the whole stinkin' state playoffs on hold. God, I love California logic.

The thread title implies (at least to me) that the California high school playoffs are on hold.

I this story and hold it applies to that particular section. Not all of California.

Yup. No state playoffs. Section playoffs (in the case of the Southern Section, THIRTEEN divisions), then three North-South games in December.

    Here's a better idea:

Just divide the whole bleepin' state into about 4 different states. It's got more population than the entire nation of Canada, for crying outloud. And maybe this would help resolve the Prop 8 controversy at the same time.

In sports, no team should have a longer playoff season than a regular season. Split 'em up and four different states. That way they can each have their own senators and the Gubernator won't have so much power.

Thank you for reading our newspaper and for taking the time to send us your proposal. We'll take it under advisement.

The Oklahoma 5A playoffs were tied up in courts for a month 3 years ago because of an eligibility issue. The kid (QB, coach's son) not only got his eligibility back, he tore his ACL the next year (his senior year) and was awarded a fifth year of eligibility in 2007.
