Anyone else hearing that the ap may

    That's the word I'm hearing.

Who cares, most major news outlets pluck the writer's names off the stories when they put them up anyway. Just look at SI.com, ESPN.com, etc.

Seems like our state's AP has been on strike for the better part of a year

Not all, our paper is over 100K and it leaves them on...

One paper I was at had one in the midst or contract renegotiations. EE said, You know, it doesn't solve anything so you might as well put it on. The response was that if it doesnt matter we'll leave it off.
Oh, they were also trying to count bylines too; so we all had none..

AP's union, if that's what it is, has done for newsgathering what the UAW has done for auto manufacturing.

    Time to move on.

Mon-Wed in several bureaus. DC will be included, so your political stories will likely have no bylines for a few days. Several state bureaus are also in the mix.

Honestly, when you have a byline on the 76ers-Bobcats one day, and then no byline on the Bobcats-76ers the next day, something like this isn't going to register a ripple. It's just going to seem like they let a stringer write said story.

Except for DC stories, I guess.

I also heard that all the AP writers are not going to buy any gas on May 15.

Jersey AP does a great job.

They've done the byline strike before. A totally futile gesture.

I've never understood what the point of this is. I can't imagine any readers ever noticing a lack of bylines, let alone care about it.
