One of my friends called the town I live in East-West Bumfuck.

Obviously, that's not its real name, but that could work for a SportsJournalists.com code name for that town.

 

Still doesn't beat writing irish's terms, but clearly on the right track - er, road.

 

And you wonder where we get our sense of humour from.

 

I was taking a prep tennis result one day.

Coach says ...

No. 1 N.Do (R) def. Smith, 6-4, 6-2
No. 2 Johnson def. D.Ho (R) 6-1, 6-0
No. 3 J.Do (R) def. Roberts 6-0, 6-4

I stopped her and said, "Wait a second. You're telling me you have two Dos and a Ho on your team?"
Quickly realizing what I had just said, I heard laughter throughout our department and had to bite my tongue from laughing.

 

Good thing the results didn't look like this:

No. 1 N.Do (R) def. Smith, 6-4, 6-2
No. 2 A.Deer (R) def. Johnson 6-1, 6-0
Girls
No. 1 J.Deer (R) def. Roberts 6-0, 6-4

Then you could've checked it by saying, "So the winners were ... Do. A Deer. And a female Deer?"

 

Wonder how the neighbors are?
