Butch Davis fired

    Twitter is blowing up with news that UNC fired Davis two days after his Media Day press conference. He should have been canned last year when it came out his top assistant was basically a runner for an agent but this timing is crap.

    if this is true, there's gotta be a pretty sexy story behind it, no? some sort of bombshell must've landed. what other explanation could there be for this bizarre timing?

    From the sounds of things, a new BOT and Chancellor took over today. Which would answer the why now? part.

    He was just at ACC Media Days Sunday and Monday and answered every question about all the scandals surrounding the program. Shrugged nothing off.

    Very strange timing

    The UNC System -- which encompasses every public institution of higher education (other than community colleges) in North Carolina, including NC State -- has a new president.
