I call Bullshit, Shenanigans, Who-do, Flimflammary, Chicanery or whatever the hell else you want to call it.
    I don't believe it.
This kid claims 7 holes-in-one, five this week, including two on the same day!? No. Way.
    The kicker:
The story, an AP story, says he has 15 witnesses - of family and friends. I still don't buy it.

It seems like this stuff - people claiming multiple holes-in-one, or back to back aces - is happening more and more often, despite the odds.
I think this stuff should be more thoroughly investigated.

Not many people care, because it's a harmless lie.

    Rant over.

Very, very skeptical. Says he works in the course pro shop--perhaps the course is looking for some free pub? Or the hole in one insurance where the club buys the drinks--maybe he's just found a convenient way to get a few post round pops gratis?

And five of them on par 4s? What kind of friggin' pansy ass course is this?

The story also doesn't mention his handicap, which would be a helpful tidbit in assessing exactly how realistic or unrealistic his assertion is.

I don't believe it for a second. Not one second.

That was my thought; the guy found a way to finagle free drinks from the club.

I would like to know his handicap, but even that - come on? Five in a week?

I looked up the guy's handicap on the Chicago District Golf Association website and his USGA index is +0.8 so the guy can certainly play a little bit. In his last 20 scores, six are in the 60s and one is a 63. Only one score in the 80s on that list.

The course where he plays is quite short -- only 6,111 yards from the back tees. That includes a 278 par 4 and a 328 par 4. I'm guessing that's where the alleged par 4 aces have come in. There are also two sub-500 yard par 5s. All of those distances are from the back tees.

I'm not sure I believe the story, but there's more reason to believe it MIGHT be possible.

If you set up the pins certain ways, you can greatly increase the chances for an ace.

That is what I would question.

Are all the aces on his home course?

Sad any media outlet would have put this out there.

    No there's not.
The guy aced some Par 4? More than once? No way.
At 278 he would use, what a 5 or a 3 wood? I have no doubt he can get it on the green and close to the hole a majority of the time and aces that close together?

Sam Snead played The Greenbrier nearly everyday of his life. The same three courses, mainly Old White, where he once shot a 59, every god damn day. He never had that kind of luck. Never!
Snead had 42 in his lifetime.
Update: Just got off the phone with Sam's son.
Of Sam's 42 lifetime aces, only eight were at The Greenbrier. EIGHT! Only five came on the resort's Old White course - this over the course of about 75 years.

"Hocker" seems a little too close to "Hacker" on my BS radar.

Does the El Paso Golf Club have a Putt-Putt course?

    No way.

I do have a friend who got two aces in one round once.

    This was 5 years ago.

I think they're still at the club drinking.

    5 in ONE WEEK.
