"Breaking down the brackets"

Must every college basketball writer or columnist in America "break down" the "NCAA Tournament brackets"?

Seriously, as soon as I see some other schmoe I've never heard of giving his "take on the games," I immediately tune out.

Just seems like a lot of white noise to me.

I'd rather they start talking soccer and boxing.

I hear Mr. Colbert had a pretty good breakdown last night.

It reruns at 2:30 for anyone interested.

I long for the days when one would just analyze a subject and not break it down.

Just seems played out to me, I guess. It bores me. But I understand that not every reader peruses multiple newspapers a day like we do.

I always think of Tone Loc saying "break it down!!" in the middle of "Wild Thing."
