    Poor KK. He wasn't that bad. I did a comparison on him and Lowe when KK was 0-7. His numbers were nearly identical, and Lowe's record was like 9-5.

    Kawakami was the king of the 4 1/3 innings pitched, 3 earned runs start, with Cox forced to pull him with the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the fifth. There were only three games this year where he pitched a quality start and lost.

    I saw it as 5 of his first 7 were quality starts and losses.

    So no, it was just 3 quality starts that were losses. He did have two quality starts that were no-decisions, most notably 6 shutout innings against Cincinnati on May 19.

    But as Don Sutton is fond of saying, a 6-inning, 3-run quality start is still a 4.50 ERA. What's "quality" about that?
