Brad Gilbert, STFU ... A US Open thread

    Roddick is a nice point of reference for the state of mens tennis the past 8 years. In 2003, he was a phenom with a huge serve and what looked like an overpowering forehand.

    While he's still got the great serve, his forehand does not seem all that special anymore. I give him credit for coming up with the chip and improving his fitness a great deal but that's not enough.

    Quite.

    Nadal just won a very entertaining match. He's played two great ones so far, winning both in straight sets but having to work hard for both.

    Serena was in the booth with the McEnroes for the first set and was mostly dreadful, just one cliche after another.
