Where is the Arab League in all of this?
What in the fuck are they doing?
Why must the West clean up this pile of shit again?

My guess is Congress passes an "authorization" measure which will allow the President to take action, but be vague enough to allow them to wash their hands of it, or embrace it, depending on how the political winds blow.

I agree with your sentiments but how does that square up with the Constitution?

    snip ...

Minister Lavrov has called the information provided to Russia by the US 'inconclusive'.

"We were shown some sketches, but there was nothing concrete, no geographical coordinates or details... and no proof the test was done by professionals... there were no comments anywhere regarding the experts' doubt about the footage circulating all over the internet," Lavrov said.

He added that "what our American, British and French partners have shown us before - as well as now - does not convince us at all. There are no supporting facts, there is only repetitive talk in the vein of 'we know for sure.' And when we ask for further clarification, we receive the following response: 'You are aware that this is classified information, therefore we cannot show it to you.' So there are still no facts."

Watching the GOP scramble to shift its narrative once Obama put the ball in their court has been chips-and-salsa stuff.

It'll be fun to see the GOP have to either support Obama in this, or be called cowards. That is, if the Dems have the guts to actually call them that.

And by Obama putting the ball in Congress' court, that takes away their NARRATIVE that Obama's acting unilaterally.

Congress didn't draw the "Red Line". The President did.

And, no way does the President go to Congress if he had Britain and/or the Arab League on his side. With no international support, and polls showing the country was against it, he blinked.

Let's be honest. That's what happened. His own staff was shocked by the decision, and was against it.

Then, John Kerry went on TV and called his decision "courageous". LOL.

He made Kerry look like a fool, and then sent him out to defend him. No wonder Hillary refused to do the Sunday shows as SoS.

It's pretty funny whenever the president is confronted with Bush-era realities, watching how he and his supporters respond.
This is a Nobel Peace Prize winner, after all.

Britain to face some uncomfortable questions about selling nerve gas to Syrians 10 months after war began:

I agree on all points. But seeking approval from Congress is technically the right thing to do. Bombing another country is an act of war and under the Constitution only Congress can declare war. Of course that hasn't happened since 1941. That's another story.

  12. Must have missed the declaration of war issued throughout the country's history.
