Just came across the TV simulcast of the radio show -- on WGN nationally. A couple things pop in my head.

    1. Chick McGee looks nothing like what I thought he'd look like.

    2. Bob and Tom look like they could be spokespeople for the AARP, a reverse mortgage company, Viagra or an incontinence drug.

    3. And Kristi is not nearly as hot as she sounds.

At least WGN finally got rid of that awful Corner Gas.

Now if we could get TBS to get rid of House of Payne and Frank TV ...

There are reasons that some people are in radio.

No wonder they're gonna look old -- they've been on Q95 in Indianapolis continuously for 25 years. Chick and Kristi have been with them for most of that time. I can't bag on Bob & Tom too much, though -- I won REM concert tickets from them my last day in high school, for knowing the last team Babe Ruth played for.

The same Corner Gas that's a mega-hit here in Canuckistan? I don't watch it but somebody up here - in Bumblefuck, Saskatchewan no doubt - must. I had no idea it was on down there.

Back before they went national, I saw Bob & Tom & company in person at a Cub Food store in 1989 during my senior year in high school. Got their autographs, etc., though in retrospect, they were at minute 14 in their 15 minutes of fame as far as my personal interest in them was concerned.

Anyway, they looked like warmed-over death back then. I can't imagine what they look like now. I have the grandpa from Texas Chainsaw Massacre in mind.

Where would this show rank among the best radio shows out there?

I've only heard these two a handful of times, but they're nowhere close to being on the same level as Howard Stern or Opie and Anthony.

    It wouldn't.

They are far from awful, and their level far surpasses many. Not nearly as exploitive or gratuitous as some national shows. Some get their humor, others don't. Doesn't mean they are awful.

Seriously, who are Bob and Tom?

It's a morning zoo-type show based in Indianapolis. They're syndicated in parts of the nation and now have their radio show simulcast in syndicated TV.
