    The word "irony" was correctly applied based on the accused's stance that Mr. Down himself is a remora. We don't handle arguments on those topics, only irony. You'll have to call the bureau to talk to someone from the Semantics Department.

    Well, sir, it wasn't perfect usage, admittedly. But our goal is to serve and protect, and we didn't think this particular offense warranted bringing charges on the perpetrator. In the ideal situation, Mr. Down would have been more directly critical of "the remoras" or even argued against their existence. Police have to make tough decisions, sir. We appreciate your concern, though, and will take it to the Irony Major.

    Typically one has to pay expensive higher education tuition to get the penetrating journalistic insights of a guy who was too shitty to even get an MLS beat job before he slithered into the soft academic life, but the beauty of SportsJournalists.com is we get it for free. And you don't even have to live in one of America's shittiest cities. It's a win-win, really.
