Weird and, of course, sad story.

Dad takes his two kids, aged 11 and 12, to see the children's mom on Christmas Day. His truck gets stuck in snow, dad tells the kids to walk the rest of the way to mom's house while he stays behind to fuck around with the truck. One child dies, the other is found at a rest stop a few miles away.

That father is just criminally stupid.

Apparently, they found the boy just in time, as he was down to his long underwear and appeared delusional.

Wouldn't it have been easier for the father just to call the kid's mother? It's a terrible story, but common sense is needed here.

You allow your kids to set out to walk 10 miles in snow up to their knees by themselves so you and a buddy can try to get your car out of the snow?

And, by the way, you have a working cellphone and don't bother to call the mom to ask her to pick up the kids or tell her they are coming or to call for a tow truck or anything.

    I'd say it's pretty close.

Depraved indifference. Haven't you ever seen a Law & Order?
