There's a pretty big difference between "rumors say it will happen soon" and it being reported, you know?

Doc was asking on deadline. He didn't care about "rumors" and "soon." He heard it had happened, and asked. Hell, if you want to play that game, find the links from January where everyone said he was done.

I don't think there is any way Donovan goes to UK. Pitino will be there before BD.

You've hit upon why Billy Donovan doesn't make a whole lot of sense in Lexington.

Florida didn't have anything to hang its hat on in terms of basketball. Now the Gators do and Donovan probably has a lifetime pass - or something very close to it.

Unless Donovan is trying to pull in enough scratch to buy Warren Buffett's portfolio, why on Earth would he want to go to Lexington? Ego would be the only reason which makes any sense whatsoever.

Same with Tom Izzo. I think he's smart enough not to leave East Lansing for that lunatic haven.

Right. But at least you mentioned the "confirmation" part.

    Never mind.

IJAG will be the head coach at Kentucky before Izzo will. No way in hell he leaves East Lansing for that fucking job.

That's what I meant, IJAG. It had already been calssified as rumor only at this point

I heard talk earlier today about Anderson possibly leaving for Alabama. Isn't Mizzou a much better job?

Yes. And why would any established coach want to be a distant second fiddle in Tuscaloosa?

Izzo doesn't leave East Lansing for any other college job; most places would be a step down, those that aren't, aren't worth the headache for the money whip. He's set for life at Sparty.
Donovan would be stupid to go. when you;re making 3.5 mill, is an extra 500K worth the bullshit and inflated expectations. Pitino would be a fool to go back. Two most secure jobs in the nation are Pitino at Lousyville and Cal at Memphis. Big coach, lots of wins, a strong tourney run every other year.
Anderson to Bammer makes a lot of sense. Mizzou might be a better job, but he coached at UAb and knows the recruiting area, grew up in Birmingham. Bammer doesnt have the senser to pull the trigger.

Anderson would retire in Tuscaloosa. He'd tap the instate talent, go to the tourney with his style and excite the program. Never covered his teams at UAB, but crossed paths in covering games with his daughter, who would have been Bama's Miss Basketball if he'd have stayed at UAB, and covering games he was recruiting.
