Bill Simmons smites Scoop about the head...

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by jason_whitlock, Feb 25, 2007.

  1. CJR reporter called me this afternoon. Says he's talked to the mayor's office, the Vegas police chief, casino heads and other journalists in Vegas for All-Star festivities and I pretty much made it all up. Things were quiet and peaceful in Vegas last weekend.

    Not sure how I'll respond.

just a couple of "isolated" incidents. nothing really out of the ordinary...

I'm sure you weren't thinking at the time that "I need to corroborate this" ... but did you? Photos? Was anybody with you?

Kind of crazy that a whole city was in chaos but nobody got video.

For what was in the KC Star column? I read that one, and I didn't see anything that would provoke that much interest.
    Am I missing something?

Who were the journalists who dispute your claims? Just because they didn't see it, CJR wants to suggest none of it happened?

Boy, Jason, they're all coming out of the woodwork.

Not sure if this is D_B or not:
