The Oregon AD you refer to, Pat Kilkenny, preceded current AD Mike Bellotti and was the biggest Oregon booster behind Phil Knight when he was hired. And he helped orchestrate the ousting/buyout of his predecessor. Very interesting situation.

Just out of curiosity - I gather UM doesn't have a "Rooney Rule" when it comes to hiring administrators?

Dan - You lost me. What's a "Rooney Rule"?

    Thanks.

Did he drop any passes in honor of Lloyd?

Doubt it. Martin's predecessor was African-American. His race had absolutely nothing to do with this, but Tom Goss was one of the biggest fuck-ups ever to be an athletic director. His decision to put a ring around the stadium -- a toilet seat to critics -- sealed his fate.

The question wasn't about UM specifically, but more about the hypocrisy of colleges and universities that preach diversity and inclusion for the small stuff, but when it comes to nut cutting time and there is serious money in play - all that stuff is tossed out the window. It either matters or it doesn't.

The Rooney rule is in the NFL, where teams must interview and consider at least one minority candidate during a hiring process.

Brandon takes a significant pay cut, going from $3.2 million to $525,000 (which is still a raise from Bill Martin).

Hank - Thanks. As soon as I read that, the proverbial light bulb turned on.

As far as a pay cut, a half-million is still a ton of money - and Dave is rich as can be already.
