Big Ten Network vs Comcast

    I couldn't agree more, slappy. But can you imagine the volume of calls Charter, Time Warner and Comcast are going to get when a customer's games aren't available? It won't be pretty.

    Mountain West Conference fans are in a tizzy because Comcast and the conference created The mtn. -- the idea behind Big 10 Network and the others -- but it's not available on DirecTV or Dish.

    The MWC fans seem unable to accept that they are really a small market and there is very, very little interest in those schools outside the footprint and only a little interest in those schools inside that footprint.

    But if this stuff weakens ESPN's monopoly, who are we to complain?

    That's right, but the BTN will be on 220 on DirecTV, and when they have more than one live game (non-conference football), those will be on extra channels somewhere on the DTV dial. So an Illinois fan in Ohio can still watch the Illini, though God knows why he would.
