WW2 would not have made the grade until we were well into the war. Good thing we did not wait given what we found in Germany.

True, Zeke. Which is why ethics is such a ball-buster. Life's imperfect and humans are often in the position of having to choose between two or more ethically unsatisfactory choices. There's not always a "right" answer.

Boom, I think there are many who think that WWII qualified as a Just War for the US even before we became involved.

Boom, what about the whole Pearl Harbor thing?

Japan attacked us without provocation. We declared war on Japan, thus by treaty Germany had to declare war on us (and would have anyway), leaving us no choice but to declare war on Germany.

    Seems pretty straightforward.

Nothing he wrote remotely says or even implies that.

Here is the test of a "Just War:" that it be a last resort, with all peaceful alternatives having been exhausted.

By that test, WW2 most certainly fits the definition of a "just war."

Well, that was a very fail-ridden digression. Yes, WWII was clearly a Just War. Next.

There's always the hope of developing a splotchy anal cyst.

It worked for Rush, yea that great Supporter of the Troops.

I'm guessing they are against it, unless it is done by and to consenting adults in the privacy of wherever they can find to get naked.

The City Council in Berkeley since has backed off a bit from this position.
