Better than the old man

Was watching Michael Douglas in "You, me and DuPree," after catching Junior Griffey in his comeback game against the Mariners and I thought, here are two guys better than their fathers. Trying to come up with as many tandems as possible.
And before you go with Kobe Bryant being better than Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, I'll put that one on with an asterisk. Coming out of high school, having seen both, Jellybean WAS A MUCH BETTER PLAYER than his son.
But that was in a different era. He was outstanding at LaSalle but unfortunately, didn't have the same coaching in the pros.

 

Not Chris Simms.

 

Not Patrick Ewing's son.

 

Prince Fielder seems to be on his way there.

But not Tony Gwynn Jr.

 

Peyton Manning, but not Eli Manning

Not Bret Hull

 

Not D.J. Strawberry.

 

Odd how we can easily come up with so many NOTS.

Here's a fun one....Barry Bonds.

And yes, I mean before his hat size started getting bigger.

Bonds not only had his father's power and speed, but also the plate discipline Bobby Bonds lacked.

I'm not sure it was even close.
