Doesn't look good for online gambling in the States.

Quick question -- For those of us who have bet on sporting events using BOS or another of these sites, are you fearful of what the government may do to you?

I used to bet on Intertops, but it wasn't very much or for very long. Did these online books take out taxes and such on large winnings?

I have accounts with Thoroughbets (for horse racing) and Full Tilt (for poker), but I'm not too worried about this. I can't imagine the authorities going after the small-time bettors like me.

I never had to worry about net winnings.

But intertops was the best I dealt with.

Online wagering on the ponies is still legal (that was the only loophole in the federal ban, IIRC). Betting on other professional sports is not.
