Your award is in the mail! Just send our state newspaper association an annual membership fee and a $100 contest entry fee ...

Oh, and be prepared to judge entries from some other state's tattoed page designers. ;)

Going back to the first post, that Jon Bois at SB Nation is fantastic.

Sorry, I meant: Going back to the first post, that Jon Bois at SB Nation is fantastic.

Here are his most recent stories:
-- The best sports GIFs of the week
    -- Lunch Judgment, Week 9.
-- What It Feels Like To Be 30. (Great journalism! -- http://www.progressiveboink.com/2012/9/25/3406070/what-it-feels-like-to-be-30. But I guess it means he's ineligible for Best Sportswriters Under 30)
-- NFL officials sure are trying their hardest
-- Tell us about your tailgate, we'll rate it
    -- Story Of Intrigue: 'Driving.'
-- Jeff Gordon To Race With Ninja Turtles Paint Scheme
-- This Week In GIFs: A Bird Flies, A Man Screams, All Is Ruined

    And there's more! http://www.sbnation.com/authors/jon-bois

To have some of those people you mentioned and not have Wright Thompson, Thomas Lake or Jeff Passan would concern me about your list. If you are just focused on writers who write for the Web, Passan and Thompson would certainly qualify there, too. Lake may as well depending how you consider Sports Illustrated as a magazine vs. Web entity these days.

Great? They're great if they are still working these days.

My mom tells me I'm great, I'm still under 40 and I work at a small-town paper that covers the bejeezus out of the local high schools. Can I be on the list?

It's a new world in which we are living and working better and longer. I think it's time for a "Best 50 Over 50."

What's weird is I'm actually kind of serious.
