    Eli Manning, 2004-06 / Mark Sanchez, 2009-11

    Regular-season record: 20-19 / 27-20
    Playoff record: 0-2 / 4-2
    Completition percentage: 54.1% / 55.3%
    Yards per game: 196.3 / 195.9
    Yards per attempt: 6.3 / 6.4
    Touchdown rate: 4.2% / 3.9%
    Interception rate: 3.4% / 3.6%
    Passer rating: 73.2 / 73.2

The numbers are almost identical. I left out totals because Sanchez started eight more games. And I would say Manning had better weapons with Tiki Barber, Amani Toomer, Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress. Sanchez certainly is backed by a better defense, though.

Nor can he throw the deep ball. If you want evidence, all you have to watch is the first series of the Houston game this year where he has both Jones and White open deep and throws wounded ducks that miss badly. Very badly.

And as opposing teams are figuring this out, it allows them to pinch up the defense and essentially make the Falcons operate in a 10-20 yard zone from the line of scrimmage down after down. That certainly doesn't help Turner with the defenses playing up and not stretched. And it makes executing any of the offense more difficult when the d-backs don't have to worry about the deep part of the field or the deep out beyond 10 yards.

In terms of the 2 WRs, TE and RB, Ryan has a good a quartet there as pretty much anyone in the league. His limitations are limiting his team.
