    Covered the 88 Calder Cup final involving Hershey -- a run of 12 straight wins then. Loved the town -- the Hersheypark Lodge hotel, the old arena. The late Frank Mathers took me on a tour of the place -- it was tremendous. One of the absolute highlights of my career

    Yeah, no kidding ... that five day wait between Games 6 and 7 in the Portland series and the week off DURING the Calder Cup finals for high school graduations in Hershey went by in a snap.

    I have to say, as someone who just watched AHL for the first time with an expansion here in Iowa, I enjoy AHL hockey. Congrats to the Bears!!

    The old barn was a great vintage arena, huntsie. Giant Center is new, and it's very comfortable and attractive.
