I saw Superman III, that was the worst movie I've seen in a theatre in years, absolutely terrible. I got home after and "Batman Begins" was on HBO, I loved it....so that made me hate Superman that much more.

I went to see The Departed last friday night and it was sold out... we never go to the movies, odd because we live a few hundred yards from a 20 screen multiplex. but we never go to the strip joint across the street from the theatre either

I forgot 'Hard Candy' came out this year. For some reason, I thought it was '05.
I voted for 'The Departed,' but I'm switching my vote.

Perhaps as a whole... but I think the Best Picture nominees couldwill be a pretty strong class.

    Right.

DWP is somewhat a dime a dozen.

V For Vendetta was the only movie I saw on that list. I did want to see quite a few of them, but I had no time. Wow am I out of the loop.

Getting my defibrillator warmed up for Dreamgirls.

Beyonce, Sharon Leal and Jennifer Hudson might do the old bastard in.

For me the Departed has been the best, though I haven't gotten to all the movies on the list yet..
United 93 is a close second, but is tough to watch.
Borat was very funny and cringe-inducing, but it's a one-trick pony and I started getting a little bored with it near the end.
I enjoy Little Miss Sunshine, but not nearly as much as others on the board. It is worth seeing, though.
I thought Stranger than Fiction was better.
Just saw Harsh Times and came away down the middle about it. Some good stuff, kind of drags a little at times, good ending.
Babel is good, but to me the message was somewhat weak.
Liked both 'magic' moves, the Prestige and the other one, name escaping me at the moment.

Am I the only one who liked the second Pirates of the Caribbean? It was definitely in the vein of Empire Strikes Back, in that it's a bridge between the first and third movies, but entertaining nonetheless.

    Sirs, Madames,

Votes here for Michael Apted's 49Up (heartbreaking if you've been following it in its seven-year installments) and The Devil and Daniel Johnson (should play on a double bill with The Mayor of Sunset Strip for rock-doc high weirdness).

I've been crunch for my thumbs-down to Scorcese's latest, so I'm not going there again.

    YHS, etc
