I vote for Ralph, but I love this line from Flandersssss:

    "That's it, you ... you, JACK-A-NINNY!"

What about Auto? Now there's a valuable fringe player.

This subject was debated NCAA tourney style a few years back. Good stuff.

You, sir, are a small god for finding that. We love tourneys here. Why did no one think of this? Though, I suppose we haven't even agred on a definition of fringe character yet. Perhaps secondary character would be a better term.

Krusty will always be my favorite secondary character.

Brockman is my favorite fringe character.

Well, 10 years ago when I last laughed at anything in the show, I was a fan of Ralph Wiggum. Even named my 3-on-3 tournament basketball team that for the tournaments we played in.

But as I said, I haven't so much as smiled at anything in that show in at least 10 years.

"Just remember... you represent the office of the mayor. So always comport yourself in a manner befitting - quick. Honk at that broad."

    My top-five from the fringe:

    1. Troy McClure (You may remember him from such educational films as "Locker Room Towel Fight: The Blinding of Larry Driscol and 2 Minus 3 Equals Negative Fun!)

    2. Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel (Hey Ma! Git off the dang roof!)

    3. Ol' Gil (Aww, don't do this to Gil!)

    4. Diamond Joe Quimby (Wow! You're the Major???)

    5. Disco Stu (He's last, but only because "Disco Stu don't advertise")
