Steely Dan: Cant Buy a Thrill/ Countdown to Ecstasy
Would contend for best first two albums ever by any artist in pop music.

From Elton John (whom I think is among the greatest piano players on the planet):

Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player/Goodbye Yellow Brick Road

And, although not everyone's style, or anything that everyone would admit to liking, the BeeGees should get a nod:

    Saturday Night Fever/Spirits Having Flown

A few I haven't seen (or maybe they were and I missed them by reading too fast)

CCR - Willie & the Poor Boys / Cosmos Factory
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited / Blonde on Blonde
Hall & Oates -- Voices / Private Eyes
    Billy Joel - Turnstiles/ The Stranger / 52nd Street / Glass Houses
Dan Bern - Dan Bern / 50 Eggs
Lucinda Williams - Sweet Old World / Car Wheels on a Gravel Road
Son Volt - Trace / Straightaways

Hence my comment - "maybe I read too fast and missed them" (or if I was to amend it I would have said "read too fast and forgot all the albums I read")
