Guinness is horrid. Yet for some reason, I find myself drinking it about once a year. I guess I stupidly think it's not going to suck next time I drink it. I cannot imagine that beer being good in any country.

Once or twice a year, I will find myself drinking Guinness. It is most assuredly not a get drunk beer.

    I'll disagree with that.

It doesn't travel well. The farther you get from the brewery, the worse it is. And, if I'm not mistaken, the recipe is different for the U.S. version. I basically never drink it here because I don't like it. I drank at least 10 pints a week of it for the four months I was in London.

There's something to be said for going to places that move a lot of it and know how to serve it. Tastes lovely at the midtown pubs I frequent.

Are you calling yourself a lightweight or saying you drink mass amounts of Guinness? It has the same abv as Miller Lite.

Why do people care about abv in beer? If alcohol content is that important, just get a bottle of Everclear and be done with it.

I'm saying I got drunk on Guinness many times in the days before fatherhood. Many.

I got drunk on Guinness once before. In my opinion, a Guinness hangover is almost as bad as a champagne hangover.

Depends on what you're doing. If you wanna enjoy a few drinks without getting hammered, drink something you like with a low ABV. If you're full on BRO mode, drink a high gravity beer and knock yourself out.

Some people enjoy beer more than liquor. So it's not always as simple as "durrr, just drink everclear!!!"
