I'm with Simon, Utah should be No. 1...

USC is one of something like five teams never to have scheduled a I-AA opponent before. USC traditionally has played a better OOC scheduled than other teams.

I don't know who UT played non-conference. But USC did play Ohio State and beat the Buckeyes convincingly. Granted, this wasn't the '02, '06 or '07 Buckeyes. But it did make a BCS game.

There are some who would tell you that with Pryor at QB now, that game would be a far different proposition for the Trojans.

I'm not completely sure I buy that tOSU would win, but the difference between having Boeckman at QB and Pryor does make me wonder whether it would be a far better, and closer, game.

If there was a playoff, I have little doubt that USC would win, but without that there, the win over Alabama gives Utah a very legitimate claim to No. 1.

Don't forget that Wells did not play against USC. The Beaner is the best running back Texas will have faced this year.

Not sure if USC could run the ball consistently against either OK or Fla and both of those teams have the players to deal with Trojan pass offense. Of the 3 SC has the best defense but they are more one dimensional than OK or FLA.

This is one of the dumbest first posts in history.

So, USC didn't have as good of a nonconference schedule as Utah?

    USC's nonconference:

    at Virginia, 52-7 win
    vs. Ohio State, 35-3 win
    vs. Notre Dame, 38-3 win

    Utah's nonconference:

    at Michigan, 25-23 win
    at Utah State, 58-10 win
    vs. Weber State, 37-21 win
    vs. Oregon State, 31-28

I think by "UT" he meant "University of Texas," which scheduled Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Arkansas and Rice.

I know and I agree UT had a terrible nonconference schedule, but he is also implying Utah deserves No. 1 in the AP poll and USC/UT don't because of "weak" nonconference schedules.

That was the dumb part, at least as far as USC is concerned.
