Without even looking, it's Carlos Silva and it's not close.

Best value of anyone not overperforming while making the league minimum is probably Longoria or Morneau.

Didn't Longoria sign a deal early last year that pays him a few million a year? Not what he'd make on the FA market, but still more than any other player who isn't even arbitration eligible yet makes.

Yeah, and Morneau's making 8 million or so this year, which is why I included the caveat.

I mean, the young guys who are vastly overperforming their contracts really don't count toward determining the best value, in my mind. Gotta be someone who actually earned a contract and delivered. Or, a guy like Longoria who the Rays locked down early and is delivering.

I liked that Big Papi is worth $-5.5 Mil. Guy is paid to do one thing--hit. Can't even do that.

Eric Byrnes and Oliver Perez are making $12 million this season.

Kerry Wood and Jake Westbrook are making $10M.

It's so weird to see one of these lists without Mike Hampton on it.

Carl Pavano and Mo Vaughn belong on a list of the recent past.

Not sure who is the "most," but if the check is signed by Bill Bavasi, the likelihood that its too fat increases exponentially.
