Oh, oops. I got the names mixed up. I meant Brett Wallace.

Should be noted, too, that even though the Sox have Buchholz, they still have Michael Bowden in the system. And it seems as though Daniel Bard will be staying with the Sox for awhile.

I wish I'd put the money down on the Nationals tonight.

I will be watching it from the floating city of New Chicago.

Maddux tailed off after the trade to the Dodgers (probably what prompted his decision to retire), but he wasn't terrible with San Diego. He had a bunch of no-decisions that the bullpen blew. And in four of his losses he gave up four runs or less and the Padres scored one or none.
Not a great year, but not as bad as it seemed by the record. He was a decent fifth starter last year.

Randy Wells with another solid outing today. 7 ip, 5 hits, 2 BB, 6 Ks. Both runs in on solo homers.

He has a 2.57 ERA and 1.1 WHIP through nine starts.

I can't believe some keep arguing he's not a solid end-of-the-rotation pitcher. He's 26 but has only been pitching for a few years (was drafted and started his pro career as a catcher).

Unbelievable. They're going to fuck Wells out of another win.

For my money, I sure feel good seeing Sean Marshall coming in right now.
