Baseball scoring question

    This is true. No CS.

    As far as the earned-unearned run theory, after thinking about it, here is a similar scenario:

    Runner on first. Fly ball to CF. He drops it. He picks it up and throws to second to force out the runner.

    In that scenario, you take away the E8 because he got an out. So you should take away the PB because the catcher recorded an out. Both plays are fielders' choices.

    But its not a passed ball if a ball that should have been caught is not. A passed ball is scored if a ball that should have been caught but is not allows a runner to advance. Yes, the batter-runner advanced, but to my thinking, this would be like a trailing runner not getting a stolen base if the lead runner is caught stealing.
