Man, we could sure use a thread about that Grantland site around these parts.

    Give Barnicle's editor a break.

He/she was more concerned with confirming Barnicle was actually at Fenway Park when he said he was and with typing various phrases from the article into google to make sure they weren't plagiarized.

Deadspin thinks the quotes in the Barnicle story are bullshit - if the guy has any amount of self-respect and didn't fabricate the quotes, he plays along.
Somehow, I'm siding with deadspin on this.

That was one of the more enjoyable stories that I've read in Grantland.

Shouldn't their AL East specialist be doing these type of stories. I wonder if they brought Barnicle in because of Tito walking out on Jones.

I've tended to on matters of Grantland. Even if Scocca, in particular, comes across as petty, he's also often right.

When a notorious plagiarist/fabricator gets a freelance assignment with a major media outlet (I'm using ESPN as the example here, since this is linked to on the ESPN.com front page), I do think it's worth its own thread.

What a horror Morning Joe is, with MB, and the enormously-unfunny Willie G . . .

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

    Yeah, I plagiarized that.

Mike Barnicle is a columnist/commentator on MSNBC's Morning Joe fabricator.
