Congrats to Wilmington's Ron Fritz, just hired as the Sun's sports editor behind Tim Wheatley. Great, deserving guy. The News Journal will miss him.

Congrats to him. Considering he was a finalist for the Toledo Blade sports ed, I'd say he got the much better end of the deal.

This is pretty cool, I'm happy for Ron. Thanks to Ron, I got my first real clips working part-time at the News Journal in college. Can't ever repay him for that opportunity.

You can send money to me. We'll call it even.
    No need to thank me.

I rarely post on here, but I, too, wanted to publicly congratulate Ron on his hiring at the Sun. He has been the APSE Mid-Atlantic chair the past couple of years and has done an excellent job. He consistently made the News Journal an award-winning section. He and Tim Wheatley, two excellent journalists as well as great people, will do wonderful things in Baltimore. Congrats, Ron!
