THREADJACK - Run the names past the coach in any sport. Last season a school in my area should have had one of the best pitchers in the area coming back to their softball team. The girl didn't play her sophomore season after leading the club in wins as a freshman. The reason, she got pregnant and had a baby. She's back this year for her junior season. Her teammates have a nicknamed her...you probably guessed it...Maternity Leave!
Back to dead athletes mistakenly inserted into season preview stories.

Had that happen a few years ago. Girl came back to become all-area POY with huge numbers at the plate and in stolen bases, not to mention a leader on a state title team. Definitely a unique "rehab" story to write.
